We all need a battery recharge on occassion. Burn out has set in and we wonder what ‘s next? How will we rekindle that spark that makes us feel useful and productive and needing to wake up to some answers of how we want to spend our day?
It’s a different jump-start for all of us. Sometimes you need a boost from more than one, here are five that I use and they seem to work for me:
- Focus on the CAN DO …….. I go through my list of items needing to be done for the week ahead and pick out things I think I can get done right away and with good results….. Oh Boy … I got something done ..Yea !
- Call or write a Trusted Friend ….. Someone I can spill my guts to about having a bad hairday or hangover, or complain to without passing judgement and someone that will not say I told you so but will just listen . My friend Geneo the chef cracks me up…. 35 years of crack-ups there….
- Plan some Get Away Time with a Loved one…. Someoneone who accepts you for who you are, could be your dog or a golf club. Fishing helps for me…. Oh ya, I do take my spouse with me on occassion …..
- Go to the Library … Yes it recharges me, I try to find a subject I know nothing about and add to my Trivial Pursuit knowledge base…….. I want to impress myself at some point.
- Remember the Favorite Question that I ask myself each morning. I usually get up and stretch my arms out wide and smile … Did I hit any wood?
