Another great way to use Twitter is for tradeshows.

Use it ahead of the event, letting people know that you’ll be at the event. Be sure to use links to the event site and social media sites. Be sure to start utilizing a hashtag for the event. If one has not been established, then develop one and spread the word about it. Also, when character space permits, also utilize the hashtag you may normally use such as #franchise.

Then, during the event, check the hashtag and tweet to everyone that has utilized the hashtag, letting them know you’re at the event. Also, tweet general statements about your concept with the event hashtag. Invite people to attened the event, visit your booth, and to visit your website or any other site, video or photo you utilize. Be sure to retweet other tweets utilizing the event hashtag.

After, the event, be sure to send out thank you tweets, provide follow up suggestions such as visiting a specific landing page or participating in an upcoming webinar. Again, be sure to use the event hashtag, and continue to check hashtag results for 30-60 days after the event.
