Consultant Mary Eastwood joins team to meet increased demand for new Bay Area franchise businesses
FranNet, a national network of consultants that works with displaced corporate employees, is expanding operations in the San Francisco Bay Area and has added Mary Eastwood to its staff.
Eastwood, a Bay Area native with two decades of experience as a corporate sales and marketing executive, has owned and run several small businesses and franchises. Eastwood, who holds a doctorate and degrees from the University of California and an MBA in Marketing from Golden Gate University, also has taught at UC Berkeley. She will focus on the East Bay area for FranNet.
In today’s economy, the franchise industry is thriving and is a leader in job creation. Record numbers of corporate workers are leaving dwindling careers and opting for franchise ownership to provide a more stable financial future in uncertain times. Eastwood will join the team lead by Gordon Dupries, owner of FranNet San Francisco.
FranNet consultants give valuable and free advice to help potential business owners research and select a franchise system that meets their needs and fits their skill set.
“Having been a business owner who transitioned from the corporate world to business ownership, I’m passionate about helping others find opportunities in a tough market,” said Eastwood. “Just because large corporations are laying people off and traditional careers are dwindling down doesn’t mean there isn’t opportunity. Most people need our help to find new career paths.”
FranNet of San Francisco has opened a new satellite office in Pleasant Hill to serve as Eastwood’s East Bay location. INC Magazine recently listed FranNet as one of the top 500 fastest growing companies in the U.S. and FranNet is in the middle of its biggest year in a 25-year history.
FranNet provides training seminars for outplacement firms and elsewhere, helping displaced workers transition, and holds informational events that help build awareness for the franchise industry in the San Francisco area.
As owner of FranNet of San Francisco, Dupries has assisted hundreds of successful clients with his knowledge of the franchise industry, research techniques, financial
strategies and long list of professional contacts. Each new franchise that opens creates an average of 10 new jobs.
“Business is booming as corporate downsizing and employment instability lead more people to take control by starting a business,” said Dupries. “Franchising is a proven and straightforward way to go into business for yourself. There simply may not be a better time than right now to use FranNet and enjoy the many benefits of franchise ownership.”
Both Mr. Dupries and Ms. Eastwood are available for commentary, on-air expertise and panel discussion work on all matters pertaining to the business world.
